November 27 2009 release
Dear Customer,
Embase, the most comprehensive and authoritative online source of biomedical answers, has been re-launched.
The new release includes:
- Indexed drug and disease relationships
- Indexed conference abstracts
- Quick and easy refining of results
To signify the changes in the product, we are giving it a new, fresh look and feel.
Customer benefits of November release:
Indexed Drug and Disease Relationships
You are now able to see in your search results indexed relationships for the 5 most often requested drug and disease concepts. Two of these relate drugs with diseases: Adverse Drug Reaction and Drug Therapy; and three relate drugs with drugs: Drug Combination, Drug Comparison, Drug Interaction. Relationships have been indexed for several back years across 5,000 journals.
Drug and disease relationships help you assess the relevance of the article without consulting the full text and enable you to pin-point precise information, which could otherwise only be found by reading the full text.
Linking of drug and disease concepts is unique to Embase on www.embase.com.
Indexed Conference Abstracts
As of the release date, nearly 10,000 conference abstracts are searchable in Embase. This will grow to an estimated 50,000 abstracts by the end of the year.
Together with the Indexed Articles in Press introduced in October, the conference abstracts significantly enhance currency and comprehensiveness of Embase.
Conference abstracts in Embase serve as an early alert, allowing you to keep track of competitors or collaborators in your field of research, prior to their work being published as a full article.
Indexed conference abstracts are unique to Embase on www.embase.com.
Refine Results Tool
The Refine Results Tool helps you limit your results using three common Bibliometric parameters: Journal Name, Publication Type and Year of Publication. Refining on Biomedical parameters will follow in forthcoming releases.
This new feature will enable you quickly and easily to refine your results by pointing and clicking.
We trust that you will benefit from this release. Further details can be found in the release fact sheet. Informative videos may be viewed from our info site. Please direct any questions, comments or concerns to your local helpdesk.
